Leo doesn’t have much to look forward to in 2016. The sign remains empty of major planets all through the year. But every Leo still knows how to have a splendid time, so it should not be too frustrating.
Last year, Jupiter passed through Leo, bringing a lot of good fortune and golden opportunities. They should have been spectacular enough for Leo to still have reason to party in 2016.
A Long Wait for Big Events
That’s a blessing, since it will take a long time before next occurrence of a major planet in Leo. That’s Jupiter again, in 2026. None of the other outer planets reaches Leo until Saturn does in 2034. So, don’t hold your breath.

Of course, this is true only for Leo generally speaking. In your complete personal horoscope chart, the whole Zodiac and all of the planets count. So, there it is room for a lot of events. But you have to check your birth chart for that.
This is what can be said for Leos in general.
Only Minor Planets
There is one planet making its regular returns to Leo also during the coming otherwise uneventful years. That is Mars, which is a mighty energizer in the fire element sign of Leo.
Unfortunately, it makes no appearance in Leo during 2016. It doesn’t return to the sign until July 2017.
So, the only planets to look for are those traveling the whole Zodiac annually. They are regarded as minor in astrology, because of their quick orbits, but they still count especially when nothing much else is happening.
The annual ones are Mercury and Venus, close companions to the sun in their voyage through the Zodiac. There is also the moon, which spins around the whole Zodiac every month, but that high frequency makes it of little significance in anyone’s life. It causes mood swings, and that’s about it.
The sun is annual too, of course, but its influence is nothing on its own. It just serves as additional weight when combined with another planet in a conjunction.
So, let’s have a look at Mercury and Venus in 2016.
A Joyful Time in mid-July
The first minor planet to enter Leo in 2016 is Venus, doing so on July 12. But Mercury is unusually close to Venus, so it enters Leo merely two days later, on the 14th. On the 17th they form a conjunction, joining their forces.
That is quite significant, even for minor planets. So, on that date and the days surrounding it, Leo will experience a stimulating and inspiring burst of energy. It is a time perfect for shining.
Mercury stimulates any kind of communication and intellectual activity, and Venus brings creativity as well as pleasantness and ease. So, together they are sort of the perfect tool for a seducer.
When you speak, you easily find the words and an audience to listen. When you appear, people notice you even more than usual, and they are attracted. You make lots of contacts and have great fun with family and friends as well as complete strangers. And you make a lasting impression on them. Many even come to admire you.
This is particularly true for those Leos born in July, but every Leo should get a decent burst of these sweet sensations.
On the other hand, that’s about it for 2016. The rest of the year is rather bland.
